Let My People Go [Exodus 1:1-7]

As the Book of Exodus commences, God reminds us of how He kept His promises to an unlikely family to fulfill an uncommon calling. God sets the stage to use His people to accomplish His purposes, and nothing can stop Him.

KEY IDEA

God has a plan for you. It will impact others. it will not fail.

A REVIEW

Jacob (also known as Israel) and his family came to Egypt from Canaan (modern day Israel) (Genesis 47-50).

Joseph and God’s plan had preceded them there (Genesis 39, 15).

This plan was the unfolding of God’s “salvation history” for Israel (exodus mean “the way out.”).

While death came to these patriarchs, the story continued into the future. God caused them to be fruitful, to increase rapidly, to multiply, and fill the land. From 70 they grow to over 600,000 men, plus their families. (Exodus 12:37)

A FORECAST

Every church and individual who acknowledges their need goes through times of rescue.

God wants us to thrive, so He will be glorified.

This often takes time, pain, and steadfast submission to Him.

His work is larger than just us; it impacts others too, both around us and in the future after us.

A PLAN FOR 2023

Acknowledge our/your need for God to work in our midst.

Prepare your heart and life to follow His lead, as He directs us, no matter what.

Yield the results to God. He gets all the glory for what He will do.
